UP CLOSE WITH DINOSAURS IN THE BIG CITY
The “Dinosaurs Alive in Kuala Lumpur” exhibition, a pop-up Jurassic-themed setup , open till January 2018 daily from 10am to 10pm , at the MaTiC Lanai , located at the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC) at 109 , Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur . The exhibition provides a larger than life educational experience for children and a creature - filled day for families looking for a park with a difference .
The exhibition opened on August 14, officiated by Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Loga Bala Mohan , who represented Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor . Tourism Malaysia director general Datuk Seri Mirza Mohammad Taiyab had earlier officiated the soft launch of the exhibition on July 14 . Datuk Loga said , “We can only imagine what dinosaurs really looked like from books and television , but now we can have a closer look at these long extinct animals . The increase in tourist arrivals including from Asia with this new tourism product could generate more economic benefits for the country,” he added .
The exhibition features more than 40 life-sized, life-like animatronic dinosaurs , a children’s
dinosaur egg and fossil dig zone , a dinosaur sand-crafting area , dinosaur bone assembly activities
and history area , themed jumping castles , games , themed food and beverage zones and special
dinosaur toys and merchandise . For some visitors, this could very well be a once in a lifetime opportunity to take a selfie with the biggest highlight of the exhibit, the T-Rex or Tyrannosaurus rex , the largest among the 40 dinosaurs .
Showtime Attractions founder Keith Brown said the 9m-tall and 25m-long Tyrannosaurus Rex was a close measurement to the real deal and specially made for the exhibition . Dinosaurs Alive is an initiative by MaTiC in collaboration with Creative Alliance and Dinosaurs Touring , a Melbourne-based company .

Dinosaurs Alive is a unique event , organised by Creative Alliance and supported by Tourism Malaysia & MaTiC under the the Ministry of Culture & Tourism. It is an interactive exhibition , where visitors can immerse themselves in a world of animatronic dinosaurs . The exhibition is educational and fun for children who would enjoy being part of this jurassic world for the day. The life-sized animatronic dinosaurs make the experience even larger than life. With various activities housed under one huge tent, the exhibit is for everyone of all ages and categories; for students, tourists, families with children. More activities will be planned in the months ahead . It is open everyday from 10am till late , until January 2018 .
